design, urban innovation, and inclusive growth.
Driven by her lived experience and thought-leading Disability Urbanism practice, Amanprit established DeafCity Hub to address a vital gap: creating a world-class, barrier-free space where the Deaf community can work, connect, and lead.
As Founder of Disability Urbanism and Board Chair of SignHealth, Amanprit excels at connecting the dots and navigating complex urban and social systems to drive real-world change.
Through DeafCity Hub, she combines DeafSpace design principles with masterplanning vision to break down barriers, empower Deaf-led innovation, and pave the way for truly accessible cities.

The Beginning
The Anastasia Trust is founded on 12 June 1986. To promote the welfare of Deaf and hearing-impaired people, specifically through building a "London Cultural and Communication Centre for Deaf People" a community centre offering employment support, information, and entertainment facilities for Deaf people.

Plans Halted
Triggered by high interest rates, the property market crash, the Anastasia Trust's building plans were halted by the recession. A downturn that hit charity fundraising and building/property projects across the country hard.

The Anastasia Trust ceases to exist as an independent charity. Its funds and assets are transferred to a new charity, SignHealth. SignHealth continues and grows the Trust's original mission, but reoriented around health inequality rather than a single flagship cultural centre building.
